EWTO – European WingTsun Organization

Since 1976, the European WingTsun Organization (EWTO) has been the global benchmark for the teaching and development of WingTsun, offering top-level training for instructors and students.

Founded in Hamburg in 1976, EWTO is now present in over 50 countries, with tens of thousands of students and hundreds of affiliated schools. From the beginning, it has pursued three main objectives:

• the constant updating and technical development of WingTsun,
• the creation of a structured and recognized organization for students and teachers in Europe,
• the official external representation of WingTsun at an international level.

Quality and shared standards

Since its inception, EWTO has set very high quality standards: in all affiliated schools, students find the same methodology, the same programs, and a uniform examination system.

Hundreds of EWTO seminars are held annually throughout Europe, ensuring:

• didactic continuity,
• technical updates,
• constant adaptation of the program to modern needs.

The "WT" trademark is registered at a European level and legally protected, guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of the training path.

The headquarters

After initial experiences in Kiel, in 1980 EWTO moved its headquarters to Heidelberg, where the Instructor Academy was founded, a training ground for over 90% of European instructors.

Since 2010, the offices and headquarters have still been in Heidelberg, within the prestigious "Landfried" complex: a modern, functional, and transparent structure that houses both administrative and training activities. This historic setting, surrounded by nature and tranquility, became an iconic location for instructor training and the organization of international events.

For almost three decades, the castle was the beating heart of EWTO, where generations of teachers received their training and where the organization's identity was consolidated.

Services and activities

In addition to technical training, EWTO supports schools and instructors with:

• Publications and educational materials: books, manuals, videos, and updated resources.
• Marketing and PR: advertising tools, promotional material, and coordination of supra-regional activities.
• Official EWTO Shop: supply of uniforms, equipment, and accessories for students and teachers.

A global network

Although born as a European organization, EWTO today also provides support and consulting to instructors and schools on other continents, strengthening an international network that continues to grow.
