History of Magic Hands
The Magic Hands of Kan-Ki-Fu originated as the culmination of a lifetime's research by Prof. Dr. Keith R. Kernspecht, founder of the European WingTsun Organization (EWTO) and considered one of the greatest martial arts masters of our time.
After over 64 years of experience, practice and study of countless styles – from Kyokushin Karate to Judo, from Jiu-Jitsu to internal systems like Hsing-I, up to the most modern functional approaches – Prof. Kernspecht arrived at the creation of a system free from forms, devoid of sections, based exclusively on function and real effectiveness.
This unique legacy will not be lost: within the world's largest organization of its kind, the EWTO, we have made it our mission to pass it on.
The evolution of the EWTO path
The WingTsun EWTO path has evolved over time:
- from traditional WingTsun
- to self-defense (SV) and BlitzDefence
- up to the development of the internal style (iWT), Functional WingTsun, and ChiSao-Kuen programs
- to finally arrive at his deepest and most personal legacy:
Magic Hands of Kan-Ki-Fu – where Kan-Ki-Fu is Prof. Dr. Kernspecht's Chinese name.
The nature of Magic Hands
The Magic Hands is not a style in the classical sense, but a craft and transformative discipline:
- it does not teach forms to imitate, but principles to embody;
- it does not propose fixed sequences, but adaptive responses;
- it does not seek the aesthetics of the gesture, but the truth of movement.
It is an inner and technical path that allows one to renew one's way of fighting and living from within, transforming the person and the practitioner.
As the name itself suggests, “magic hands” are those that act without force, without rigidity, but with sensitivity, perception, and awareness.
The transmission
After his last research phase, Prof. Dr. Kernspecht passed on this knowledge to a select number of students, among whom stand out:
- Dr. Natalie Kernspecht, his direct heir and guardian of the art worldwide
- Prof. Dr. Oliver König, among his highest-ranking Grandmaster students

The present
Today, Magic Hands is spread through exclusive seminars and dedicated trainings, open to both experienced martial artists and beginners, offering a unique approach to self-defense, inner search, and psychophysical transformation.
